Nominations for 2006 MPSL Board of Directors
The nominations for the 2006 BoD are open to all current members in good standing. If you are interested in serving on the board, contact Jon Espy, Club Secretary at jespy@gearforsports.com. A ballot will be finalized after the November match with the election taking place during the December match.
August Results
30 pistol shooters came out in the morning to shoot 31 guns
between the rain storms. Despite
the fact that the 25 Yard South range was flooded out, we shot four stages by
doubling up on the 25 Yard North range.
Stages included classifier CM 03-12, 18 round speed course, a 30 round
adaptation of a track and field course titled the Running Man and a 29 round standards course
with a Texas Star for a total of 89 rounds.
Fifteen shooters
participated in the long gun events.
The long gun events included two rifle courses requiring 63 rounds to
complete both courses. There was
no shotgun event.

class, there must be at least three shooters within that class.
Setting up on the Day
of the Match
Range is open at 7:00 AM for setup. If setup crew is going to be late on a stage, please contact J.D. Smith ahead of time. This way extra range setup personnel can be funneled to help on other stages that are in trouble.
If you are relatively new at setting up a course or unsure of what to
set up, check in with J.D. Smith.
He will provide you with direction on what is needed.
If you require assistance in building the course, you will be able to
enlist a volunteer or two on the
day of the match to help you haul stuff, set up targets and do what ever is
necessary.
Skills
Development Matches
The last of the Skills Development Matches of 2005 will be held on Sunday, September 4. This match will be a pistol format, similar to the other three. The long gun event did not materialize as planned.
While these sessions are targeting C and D level shooters, all are welcome to learn or share what they have learned in the past.
Registration and setup at 9:00 AM, LE range, Millcreek Rifle Club. Cost is $15 for members.
One of the membership
requirements of MPSL is setting up two stages during the year. If you have fulfilled this requirement,
thank you for meeting your membership obligations!
NRA Membership
As part of shooting at the Millcreek Rifle Club range, it is required that all MPSL members also belong to the NRA. Please bring a copy of your NRA publication with the address label or a NRA membership card as a proof of current membership when you renew MPSL membership for 2005.
You can renew your NRA
membership at a discount through the club.
The MPSL BoD voted to enter a bid
for the hosting club for the 2006 Area 3 match. The bid is targeting couple weekends in June.
